When a sailor crosses the 180 degree meridian – the longitude line that separates the western and eastern hemisphere opposite the prime meridian – they enter King Netpune’s Domain of the Golden Dragon. To pay respects to the king, one must bath themselves in the waters on each side of the line. I am happy to say that our team bathed in both – in 70 degree water 12,000’ deep in the western hemisphere and…47 degree water in Massacre Bay.
